HADRIAN's WALL

Erected by the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 120 AD , this 73 mile wall in northern England, marked and defined the northern limits of the Roman empire. With many turrets, milestone castles, and forts every 5 miles, the wall successfully kept the out barbarians to the north, present day Scotland. The wall was abandoned in 383 AD as the Empire crumbled.
